Hallways are done!

So, you may be wondering why we have been doing so much. Well you know how I wrote in Alaina's birthday blog here. that we have been literally so busy it's because we have been doing things around the house and we have other things going on as well. Well I had thrown a jewelry party at the end of October so we decided to do everything before it happened and also my mother and sister in law are coming for Thanksgiving so our house needs to be ready for our guests!

For the hallways Sam and I decided to continue the "Agreeable Gray" by Sherwin Williams from the living room and entry way into the down stairs hallway all the way up the stairs into that hallway. The people that lived in this house before did a terrible job painting so you know when you put painting tape on the edges well lets just say they didn't and the paint before went places where it wasn't suppose to. UGH! I think I've turned into a painting SNOB! Sorry, I've been painting so much I should become a professional BUT I WON'T! haha! I'm actually not that good but I've leaned from my mistakes!

Let me just tell you that I painted the hallways all during nap time. Well at least I got the first coat done by the time Alaina woke up.

Enough about me I will continue on with pictures...

After... isn't it so much better?!?
Hope you have enjoyed my hallway victory! :)

Kitchen Painting!

The week of the jewelry party I decided to get OFF MY BOOTAY and paint our kitchen. I was dreading to paint the kitchen because first its a kitchen and second theres A LOT of stuff in there that I'd have to set aside to paint. I also moved our stove which I wish I had cleaned before we moved in because it was a disgusting disaster under there.

Like I said before we didn't change the color much but it is a little different we used "Meditative" by Sherwin Williams. I wanted to go a little lighter but Sam wouldn't budge. Oh well I still love this color!  Apparently we are big BLUE fans and will continue to paint our rooms similar colors. haha

Here I'll show you while I was painting...

I'll have to come back with a picture of the whole kitchen but for now this will have to do.. lets just say that my kitchen is not in the best shape right now. I'm still recovering from the party that we had on Saturday! :)

See Ya!

Update!

We have updated OUR HOME lately at least. I'm sorry I haven't been up to date on this blog but I am slowly working on it tonight! Sam is working a different shift today which has him working from 7PM - 3AM so this means avoiding going to bed because lets face it going to bed without your husband SUCKS! At least I have Beano to cuddle with. BTW Beano is our amazing dog that we love and he sleeps in our bed! Please don't judge! :) I have lots of posts of him click here.

We haven't done much just paint our hallways that had this icky beige/brown color and painted our kitchen a lighter blue I don't have a picture of the kitchen but I do have pictures of the hallway! WAIT WAIT WAIT! Now that I saw the pictures of the bathroom I realized we have done so much but we will start with the bathroom for tonight and keep going on to another post with hallways. Let's list all the things we have done so far painted bathroom, hallway and upstairs hallway, kitchen, changed the nasty yellowish light switches and plugs to white ones, sanded our stair case rail and painted the spindles on it. (i think that's what they're called) right?!?

Now we had this ugly green that I didn't like AT ALL! So, we went a little crazy and painted it a light blue that's called "Open Air" by Sherwin Williams! Go look at it on pinterest it's so pretty!

First coat on that wall.

I'll have to update you on what it really looks like now but this is what it looked like when I finished.

I literally just went to go take pictures of the bathroom for you! :)

It's a little empty but I plan on making prettier in the near future! :)

There's No Place Like Home!

Last week before my sister-in-law came into town my mother and I cleaned my house! I don't think my house had been this clean since EVER! Anyways, I took the chance to finally take some pictures! Please excuse Dr. Phil on the TV! haha It was an interesting episode and it had to be on!

Let The Party Begin!

Here's our SAWEET Kitchen. Those curtains on the window came with the house. I want to make my own curtains but I haven't figured out what fabric and what kind of curtains I should put... Any ideas?

Sorry about the lighting!!  WE are still working on that wall in the corner there just go back to this blog and look for the last picture. Long story short about that wall.. there was a leaking pipe that caused a bit of mold so we fixed the pipe and took care of the mold and have slowly worked on it.

Remember when we first got the house and there was a half wall with poles? Doesn't it look so much better open into the living room? So glad we decided not to keep it.

Our SAWEEET living room that we painted with Sherwin Williams Agreeable Grey It doesn't look like a grey in this picture but it is haha it was the lighting!

Sneak peak to our stairs and half bathroom.

Look at those wood floors! They are so BEAUTIFUL! You can also see the actual grey now. :) You can't tell from this picture but we don't have any baseboards nailed down we are still working on it. I will post pictures when we finish!

We are so grateful to have this home!

This Will Be The Best Year Yet!

So the week when we were suppose to close on our house Sam had this great opportunity to go to Ecuador! He had a couple of hiccups getting there and they were not his fault may I add! Anyways, he left Monday early afternoon and was suppose to get there that night but he ended up getting there Tuesday evening. The plan was to get home Thursday but since Sam and his coworker got there so late they wanted to extend his stay. Unfortunately, he couldn't stay until Friday because of our house situation like we had to close by Saturday and with paperwork and such it would have taken a day. It was cutting it super close if he came home Friday! So Thursday he got here at 11 and we went to go sign papers we were so excited! I don't know if you saw but I had a couple selfie posts about buying a home haha. Sam was not happy with me because something happened Friday morning that almost lost us the house and then I had posted all over social media that we bought a house and blah blah blah! haha he was so stressed out! I really should've waited until we HAD the house. Thursday after we signed papers we went to go celebrate at the wonderful Cheesecake Factory! I've never been and it was so freaking good!! Also, Alaina was a doll! I have pictures that are just beautiful!

Love her face!

Blurry but she is a doll!

Friday evening we got THE CALL that the house was OURS! We were BEYOND EXCITED!

Wherever You Go Leave A Little Sparkle!

The next day I got more paint to do a second coat of Agreeable Gray on our living room wall. The sister missionaries came over as well to help take out staples and sweep the floor. They were so sweet and very helpful!

We took off the painters tape and our wall  looked so good!

That day we also got our appliances. The house didn't come with a refrigerator nor washer and dryer.

Our sweet washer and dryer and my wonderful husband!

I've always wanted to take a picture like this. SILLY I know! :)

Our beautiful kitchen without our refrigerator!

Kitchen with refrigerator!

We had enough of that wonderful Agreeable Gray that we painted the entry way. We plan on doing all the hallway walls that color but the paint that we bought was a little more expensive than just regular so it's going to have to wait! :) One step at a time!

Nothing too special happened this night but we got our walls painted. Again, I'd like to thank the McIntyre's for helping us finish painting the walls.

Official Home Owners!

About 3 weeks ago we got the keys to our new home! I still can't believe we own our first home. This home was made for us. Our Realtor showed us about 6 homes in one day and nothing compared to this one. We kind of felt that she showed us really crappy homes so that we would buy this one. haha it didn't matter because whenever I would look online nothing would compare. We are so happy! No more turning down my music during one of my jamming sessions with Alaina or just me haha. No more rules on painting or poking holes through walls. We are so grateful for this home we couldn't have asked for more!

Let me show you pictures!
Now we are still working on some things so you have to bare with me. :)

Home Sweet Home! It's quite brown.. we plan on taking care of that in the near future.

As soon as the McIntyre's could they came right over to help us out from giving Alaina a bath to painting and tearing down walls.

Look at those super YUCKY YELLOW walls! That was taken care of that night!

As soon as we could we also took out the carpet!

You see this wall?!?!

Tony felt the need to stick his head in between the bars! haha (for picture purposes)

It didn't take long before we decided to tear it down!

It's gone!!! Well the bars are!

That's me taking care of that ICKY YELLOW with some Agreeable Gray from Sherwin Williams! We kind of know someone that works there! :)

Courtney and Tony working hard! :)

The wall is gone!
This is where we ended the night! It looks good huh!?! I know! Just wait until you see the rest!

We are so grateful for the McIntyre's for helping us out that night! Thank you!

I'll keep you updated on what we did next! :)
